From Vision to Reality
The CalhamBerkekey Group was founded in 2006 by a Howard University Dentist, Calvin O. Culmer, and a Princeton University/Howard University-trained primary care physician, Karl Hammonds. Dr. Hammonds is deceased; Dr. Culmer continues to serve as the President/CEO of The CalhamBerkekey Group.
Founded in 2010, CalhamBerkeley Group has consistently been at the forefront of healthcare and workforce development. Our mission is to empower communities through innovative solutions that enhance healthcare delivery and workforce skills.
The CalhamBerkekey Group has a community preparedness information clearinghouse and works to educate the community about health and wellness risk reduction practices and initiatives. The CalhamBerkekey Group has been widely recognized for its Community Preparedness in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, northern Virginia, and Maryland designed to improve public health policy initiatives and keep health and wellness issues in the hearts and minds of individuals, groups, institutions, policymakers, donors, volunteers, and funders, and provides specifically tailored health and wellness initiatives that “better the human condition” and, improve the quality of life for our clients.

The CalhamBerkekey Group utilizes volunteers to expand Pour outreach into the communities we serve, expanding our ability to provide high-quality health, wellness, and life skill services to underserved individuals, groups, families, and public and private institutions in Washington, D.C., northern Virginia and Maryland.

The CalhamBerkekey Group will review and deepen its existing direct support and services to ensure they are state-of-the-art and support effective collaboration with the volunteer corps and community members to provide them with easy-to-access medical care and lifestyle resources.
The CalhamBerkekey Group will address our target population’s needs to identify gaps or needed shifts in service delivery. This assessment will serve as the basis for expanding or adding new service initiatives.
The CalhamBerkekey Group will take a leadership role in working with a range of providers (not just health care providers) to identify and meet the employability skills needs of our target population.
The CalhamBerkekey Group will endeavor to expand the organization’s visibility in the community consistently.
The CalhamBerkekey Group will build its discretionary financial resources to invest in providing quality services. This includes seeking a line of credit and establishing a maintenance fund to address any financial challenges that threaten its sustainability in the future.
